Alexandra Moreno -  Artist

Alexandra Moreno was invited by Swedish Tyre Recycling to interpret tyre recycling through her artistic expression.  The outcome was a sculpture made of granulate powder, titled A Knot in Motion.

Alexandra Moreno is trained at Folkuniversitetet in Stockholm, Sweden, where she completed the one-year program in Silversmithing & Jewellery Design, followed by the bachelor’s program in Jewellery & Corpus: Ädellab at Konstfack. She also studied abroad for a term at Pratt Institute in New York.It was the relationship between craftsmanship, jewellery, and the body that first captured Alexandra’s interest. It took time before she fully embraced her artistic side, and now her hope is to encourage others to do the same. Creative work is fun, challenging, and enriching—something Alexandra believes everyone should experience. She is passionate about passing on her technical skills and showing others what an artistic process can look like.

Alexandra  was invited by Swedish Tyre Recycling  to interpret tyre recycling through her artistic expression. In conjunction with Alexandra’s invitation to exhibit at Stockholm Craft Week 2024, which aims to highlight contemporary craft and strengthen its position in the contemporary art scene, both nationally and internationally, the result was a sculpture made from granulate and granulate powder from recycled tyres, titled “A Knot in Motion.”
